Route 2 Construction This Week

Work continues on our Joe's Pond section of Route 2. Nicely paved and lined now, crews are getting buttoned up and will be stopping work for the winter within a few weeks. In the meantime, here is what we can expect for delays this week:

TRAFFIC IMPACT AND DURATION: Monday, September 9, through Friday, September 13, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., motorists can expect lane closures with alternating one-way traffic patterns and minor delays throughout the entire 16-mile project limits on U.S. Route 2 (U.S. 2) from the Plainfield/Marshfield town line to the VT Route 15 (VT 15) and U.S. 2 intersection in West Danville. Flaggers and Uniform Traffic Officers will be present to assist motorists through the work zone.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution while traveling through the work zone and plan for minor delays.

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES: Crews will continue cleaning shoulders with excavators along U.S. 2 near Danville Hill Road and Joe's Pond in West Danville. On Friday, September 13, crews will be paving drive aprons near Joe's Pond.

LOCATION: Beginning near the Plainfield/Marshfield town line, on U.S. 2, near the intersection with Hillside Drive extending easterly along U.S. Route 2 to a point just west of the intersection with VT Route 15 in West Danville.

PROJECTED COMPLETION: Summer 2025
