Road Work in Cabot

Cabot is working hard to get all the roads repaired after the flood damage in July. They are doing finishing touches to get ready for fall rains and winter. Here is the schedule for work coming up, just in case any of you are planning on heading through some of Cabot's pretty back roads during this exceptionally nice weather ahead. From Sid Griggs, Road Foreman, Cabot:

Good morning Cabot residents.

Some traffic updates of where the road crew is working this week as well as a couple road closures in the coming weeks.

This week we are working on finalizing our hydrologically connected segments grants on Menard Road and Danville Hill.

Today we will be hauling gravel to Menard Road, so if you see a truck with its body in the air driving towards you, please pull over and let us spread. Last week I had a couple folks who needed this reminder. We will wait if we haven't began lifting our body in the air, but it's extremely hard on the truck to have to stop and wait with all that weight on because the vehicle coming is impatient.

Wednesday September 11th Bothfeld Hill Road from the Bothfeld farm down to the West Hill/Cabot/Coits Pond Road intersection will be closed for tree removal. It will be closed between 7am and 4pm. No through traffic allowed, local traffic only.

Next week. Not sure of exact date yet, Coits Pond Road from the Cabot Road, West Hill Pond Rd intersection up to Churchill Road will be closed. We have a segments project which entails ditching, stone lining and gravel to be done. This road is too narrow to allow for work to be completed and traffic to flow through. The road will only be closed between 7am-4pm. it will be open overnight when we are not working. Work is expected to take 3 days. Updates will come as I am able to tell what dates we will be doing the work.

Thank you. Sid

And here is a reminder about the Beanhole Supper this Sunday, September 15 at Greenbanks Hollow. It looks like the weather will be just about perfect for this outdoor event. See you there!
