Mark Your Calendars!

PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS!

The Joe's Pond Association (JPA) is sponsoring the band "Raized on Radio" to play Saturday, August 15 from 6 - 9 pm on Richard and Carmen Gagne's lawn.  Campers will be able to enjoy the music from their boats or even from the comfort of their camps nearby.  A pontoon boat can make an excellent dance floor!  The JPA would like to thank the Gagne's for their hospitality in offering their lawn to the band for this JPA event.

It's very nice that JPA is sponsoring some safe entertainment this summer. The idea started when Cherese and Kent Mason had music at their house and people loved it. Thanks to them for the idea, and thanks to JPA for picking up on it. We all need safe things to enjoy during this very difficult time. It appears that people who are being too casual about the virus are likely causing an extension of the pandemic. No sensible person wants to do that, but I'm afraid some people simply don't understand what our governor, science and doctors are trying to tell us. It's sad, and I hope things turn around so that next year we can enjoy regular JPA meetings and activities at the pond.

In the meantime, the weather continues to deliver unexpected miseries and pleasures - depending on your outlook. I measured another .90 in. of rainfall this morning. Over the past two days we had 4.56 in. and for the past five days, a total of 5.70 in. That's a lot of much-needed precipitation, but we are enjoying a nice day today to let things quiet down a bit before then next batch of rain hits us. With a little sunshine, the grass may dry off enough for folks to get out there and mow before the rain comes again late tomorrow.
