Rain!
Quite the series of storms rolled through here early this morning! I measured 3.66 inches of rain - I don't remember ever recording quite that much from one storm, but I didn't go back over the years to check. There will be flooding just about everywhere today as the brooks flow down off the hillsides. Joe's Pond is already high, I'm pretty sure - will check later in the day and there will be detailed local weather reports on the radio and TV. Be cautious as you drive, especially on some of our back roads where brooks and rivers may be running exceptionally high and bridges may be out or unsafe. Check on your neighbors who may live in flood-prone areas to be sure they are ok. Also, there is more rain forecast for this afternoon, so be prepared - and some areas will be without electricity. We wished for rain - this is what we got! The air is sweet and cool - very refreshing with all that heat and pollen gone. Enjoy whatever you can - there seems to always be a yin and yang to these things.
