Greetings from south Florida (it's semi-rainy and 80 today). Interesting picture! Ospreys have a distinctive white head, belly and tail viewed from underneath with banding usually visible on the tail and some white on the leading edge of the underwing. The bald eagle has a white head and tail but a black belly and underwing. The picture looks to show a white belly suggesting osprey but the clean white tail and what appears to be characteristic yellow talons leaves me to cast my vote as a bald eagle. (note; I'm certainly not an authority on raptors but my wife and I love your blog and I just wanted to weigh in on the voting). Thank you both for sharing your lives in Vermont, it brings us joy between summer visits.
