We've just had another power outage.  Power went off about 11:30 and we just got it back about half an hour ago.  The power company said there was a report of a tree on the line and that it was burning.  They didn't say where, but we know our neighbors on either side along W. Shore Road  were without power, too.  We've had more power outages so far this summer than we've had for the past couple of years put together!  Now I'm back "in business" on my computer, I'm busy answering e-mails and trying to play catch-up.

We have notification from Francine Perkins regarding the Route 2 Project in Danville:

Work Update
Danville Route 2 Project
Project:  Danville FEGC 028-3(32)
 WEEK OF 7/16/12
 Village Green:

Crews will be fine grading the roads around the Village Green in anticipation for paving.  Travel will be reduced to alternating one-way traffic around the grading operations.

Miscellaneous clean-up work will be performed around the project.

Contact Francine Perkins, Public Relations Officer, FRP Enterprises, LLC with any questions or concerns with regard to this project at 802-479-6994 or for a more up to date schedule visit www.roadworkupdates.com.

Fred got some pictures yesterday when he had to go to Danville.  This shows that the sidewalk by the school is in.  Looks like the level of the road pavement will be brought up several inches in the final phase.  It does look pretty nice, though.

The lower picture is in front of the Passumpsic Savings Band and the Danville Restaurant, across the street.  Curbing is in, and that must be permanent, but it looks like there needs to be a lot of material on both sides of it to finish it off.  (Click on the pictures to enlarge them.)

I wouldn't want to be working out on a highway project during this kind of weather.  It's another hot day today, and according to the weather forecasters, nothing is going to change until probably tomorrow evening.  We may get some pop-up showers through the weekend, then a cooling off period.  I just hope those "pop-up" showers don't turn out to be like the ones we got on July 4th.  We're still trying to recover from that storm.

I'll be at the Cabot Historical Society building in Cabot tomorrow afternoon from 1-3 p.m.  There are always things to be done there, little chores like arranging books shelves and labeling some of our artifacts, so it's a pretty relaxed couple of hours.  It's always a plus when someone stops by to do some research or browse through our exhibits, so if you're in the vicinity, stop in.

Another Adventure

This week turned out to be a doozie for me. I had anticipated going for a follow-up on my knee on Monday, but instead ended up in the ER at ...
