We are very saddened to learn of the death of John Gebbie's father, Durward Gebbie this past Tuesday. Mr. Gebbie owned and managed Lyndonville Hardware, and he and John opened St. Jay Hardware together, many years ago. He was a very nice man and had a lot of friends in the area. Our condolences to John and his family. If you'd like to send a sympathy message to John and Denise (their cottage is on Rt. 15 by the bridge in West Danville), their home address is 71 Daniels Farm Rd., Waterford, VT 05819.
We have another hot day ahead. We're going to Butters Restaurant in Cabot for brunch later this morning, so I'll have a first-hand report for you later today. We've heard very good things about the new restaurant, and only recently learned that one of the owners is Kathy Sevigny, now Kathy Linkovich, who grew up in Danville, the daughter of Marylene and Walt Sevigny. Sometimes it's a really small world, and that's when I appreciate it the most, I think.
