We're happy to report we had an excellent "breakfast" at Butters today.  There was a wide variety of food to choose from, and everything was delicious.  The buffet included hash browns, scrambled eggs, french toast, ham, bacon and sausage, veggie lasagne and corned beef hash, plus breads for toast, and to top it all off, an excellent blueberry cake that Kathy said her mom, Marylene, made, and fresh strawberries for dessert - as if any of us needed dessert after sampling everything on the buffet.

They seemed to be busy - not rushed, but there was a pretty steady flow of people coming and going, and we saw a number of folks we knew, which is always nice.  Stan told us they are thinking of changing their hours to include breakfast Wednesday through Friday; right now, they only serve breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, but are open for lunch and dinner.  They are closed on Monday and Tuesday.

We didn't take many pictures - we were too busy eating!  Bill and Diane got there ahead of us, and that's Louise and me behind Elizabeth's hand, as Fred was taking the picture.  We all agreed we'll certainly go back.  It's a very nice addition to the area, and an easy ride from Joe's Pond, with lots of different ways to get there, each with their own great views.  If you go by way of Danville Hill, it's a beautiful view heading down into the valley, and you come out almost in front of the restaurant.  Over Cabot Plain is a bit more of a challenge as there are other roads branching off in all directions, but after West Shore Road, stay on Cabot Plains Road and past the Plains Cemetery until you hit 215N where you'll turn left onto the hard surface.  Today, we went by way of Brickett's Crossing Road to pick up Louise and Elisabeth, and then continued to 215N where we turned left.  Route 215 is paved, so if you don't like dirt roads, you can go from West Danville on Route 15 to 215 without the dust - but also without some of the great views, but it's still a very pleasant trip.

Right now it looks as if our day is beginning to cloud in, but it's still very warm outside.  My thermometer is reading 88 degrees, but that's where the sun hits, and even though it's hazy, it's not like being in the shade.  There's only a little breeze from time to time - but there appear to be some thunder storms (click on "activate" on the right of the weather map to see the path of the storms) in the Montpelier area heading our way,  so we should keep an eye out for storm clouds and take cover if you hear thunder.  Some of the electrical storms this year have been severe, and it's not good to take chances.

Another Adventure

This week turned out to be a doozie for me. I had anticipated going for a follow-up on my knee on Monday, but instead ended up in the ER at ...
