We were away most of the day, so I'm later than usual posting here. When I checked my e-mail, I found these great pictures and a message from Evelyn Richer:
This (top) is the photo sent to you on April 9,

This is the channel today…. (April 9, 2009)
For all the folks that want to calculate the exact IceOut time…*****
The ducks are back, and so are the geese… we have Ringnecks, Common Mergansers, Hooded Mergansers, Woodies, Mallards, Greebs, and they continue to show up… otter and beaver are active as well… plus the usual mink plus others…
Waiting for the loon… earliest sighting at the nest was April 8th about four years ago…
Enjoy! Happy Easter to all!! Evelyn and Ray
Thanks for thinking of sending these, Evelyn. Some difference! Audrey Walker said yesterday the ice will go out early this year - and then I saw a friend today at the post office and she was recalling how cold and snowy Good Friday was last year - so perhaps it will go out sooner than last year.As we were coming home through West Danville, we took these pictures to show you how much (or how little) water is s

Because we know Molly's Pond goes out just about a week before Joe's does, we took the short ride over to see how things looked in East Cabot. There is very little water showing at Molly's Pond, but the ice doesn't look as white and solid as Joe's. (Molly's, below right.)

We saw ice fishermen out on Joe's again today. I haven't had a report from Kevin lately, but I'll see if he's been out to fish and will have a report, perhaps this weekend.
I'll have a slide show for you tomorrow. It's too late to put it together tonight.
