We walked early this morning. This is what our driveway looked like when we started out. We had snow off and on all day yesterday, but it didn't stick. Last night the temperature dropped well below freezing so that cooled things down.
We noticed these guys through the trees when we were about in front of Encarnacion's. They were truckin' right along, heading north, so Fred sprinted down across the field to the shore to get another shot. The field was frozen - not solid

This is the sort of stuff we were walking on in the field - tufts of ice crystals formed from the warmth of the ground and water underneath.
We were looking for signs of high water along the shore, but as you can see, nothing is showing up yet. Apparently keeping the dam as open as possible is working well so far. The next few days should help slow the runoff, for the temperature is supposed to continue in the 30's and 40's. Right now outside my window it's 30 degrees, but most of the snow has alread

We haven't been on the other side of the lake recently, so don't know how those roads are, but things are moving in the right direction and with a little sunshine and warm weather, everything will be in good shape.
