We've enjoyed a bright but cool day here. Whatever thawing that's going on is slight and slow, and that's pretty good for the roads, we think. Fred and I walked this morning around 8 o'clock, and the road towards Brickett's Crossing was very good. We didn't go towards Rt. 2 today, but yesterday when we were out, there is a strip of pretty bad washboard and potholes on the flat from LaPrade's driveway to Mason's. Lots of the cars and trucks that go through there don't slow down much, so every time they go through they splash more mud out of the holes and deepen them. Makes you wonder how their cars hold together. Of course, when we're walking, especially this time of year, we often find car parts in the road - nuts, bolts, bars, hubcaps - all kinds of stuff goes flying off, but I guess the drivers are oblivious until something important drops off, like a wheel. Don't laugh - it's happened.

There's a lot of water still coming off the Plain into the pond. This is a picture we took this morning. We've seen much more water coming through this culvert just past the Wright's pasture (horses and trucks), but with the weather not
as warm as sometimes, the runoff isn't as heavy.

We have some announcements for you - here are some
posters. Mark your calendars:
