RAIL TRAIL MEMBERSHIP
The message copied below was recently sent to members of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. Andy Rudin sent it along to me and I thought there might be some interest in joining so there would be a more diverse group offering ideas as to how the trail is being developed. I happened to talk with Ted Chase this week and he tells me he's not as involved as he once was because they are now in the permitting and fund-raising phase which Ted said could take at least two years. If you'd like to talk to Ted about that you could e-mail him at tedchase@Vtlink.net Another source of information is Sam Lewis on Sandy Beach Road who works for VTrans (Vermont Agency of Transportation).

Dear Friend of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail:
Our records indicate that you may be interested in becoming a member or
renewing your membership, and we need you to help our organization grow
so that we can effectively represent the interests of non-motorized
users of the Rail Trail.
Imagine what it will be like to bike, walk, run, cross-country ski,
hike, bird-watch, horseback ride or commute over a trail that does not
have motor vehicles. It’s quiet, serene and beautiful on the Lamoille
Valley Rail Trail.
We have a committed, diverse and knowledgeable Board that is devoting
their time and energy to this project. In fact, we’d like to take this
opportunity to recommend that you visit our new website at
www.FriendsLVRT.org! This is a great new way to see what our
organization is doing, and why your membership is so vital! Friends of
the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail will not be successful without a growing
and supportive membership.
Please consider renewing your membership right away and asking your
friends, neighbors and co-workers to also join our organization by
clicking on the “Become A Member” logo on our Membership page at
http://www.friendslvrt.org/membership_link.html. Also, Friends of the
Lamoille Valley Rail Trail, Inc. is now a 501(c)(3) organization.
Please keep in mind that our annual meeting will be held at Hilary’s
Restaurant in Morrisville at 10:00 A.M. on October 20, 2007. All are
welcome.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Heidi Krantz, President, Friends of the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail
