Milfoil Training Video

Here is a link to the EWM training session held at the JPA pavilion on Saturday. Joanne Stewart mentioned that watching the video counts as volunteer time, so even if you cannot be active in some other way, this will support the effort to conquer EWM. There is a form on the Joe's Pond website for reporting your activity. That report goers to the State of Vermont and lets them know we are pro-active, which will help in getting funding.

There is an interesting program coming up at the St. Johnsbury History & Heritage Center that you may want to try to take in.  That is an wonderful place to visit, if not for this presentation, whenever you have an opportunity.

We have had beautiful weather for the past couple of days - but I think today will mark the end of it (again) and we will relapse into cooler, wet, gloomy days for the coming weekend, at least. This happens all to frequently - weekends are not a great time to plan any outside activities. It's a pattern I hope will change.

The nights are still pretty chilly, but not in the 30s and low 40s as it was last week. I had moved my plants onto the porch a little too early and those chilly nights were worrisome. I had already put the curtains up that are great when it gets really hot and the sun is beating in on the porch from two sides all day long, so I grabbed some clothespins and cocooned my plants in them. I'm not sure if it really helped much, but the plants all seem to be thriving now and are back in place, gracing the corners of the porch. Just in case, I've left the clothespins on the table ready in case the temperature drops into the low 40s again.

In the meantime, enjoy our summery weather while it's here and avoid the black flies if you can. They are fierce, as usual!
