There is a huge change in the atmosphere this morning. We had a strong storm sweep through yesterday afternoon that dropped another .36 in. of rain on us. That makes .99 in. in the past two days, according to my measurements. The air has changed from soupy to crisp, literally overnight. We are almost into August and, dare I say the "F" word? we are almost over the hump of mid-summer into fall (there, I said it!) The intense heat of July may be tempered now by slightly shorter days that get gradually cooler and "crisp" will be the norm. Oh, well, it was hot while it lasted.
Here is something you may want to attend. I have read Heidi's book and it is a very touching, well-written love story that will capture your heart. It has love, drama, joy and sadness expressed as only one who has experienced it could manage. I admire Heidi's strength and determination, both as she lived this story and as she wrote it. Well done, Heidi.
