Here you are, the official results of this year's first Sunfish Race, hot off the waves of Joe's Pond, sent to us by Susan Bouchard:
The weather was perfect for the first Sunfish Sailboat race for 2022.
The winds were typical for Joe’s Pond always shifting leading to a very
competitive race. For the Single Division, Jay Chatot was the leader
and Jack LaGue came in second just squeezing out Rob Stewart. For the
Double Division, Lee Erdmann won with his grandson, Charlie Roberts. The
race for second and third was very close as Joe Cassani with nephew
Grayson Demers finished just seconds ahead of Matt Nichols with his
daughter, Scarlett.
Single Division
1) Jay Chatot
2) Jack LaGue
3) Rob Stewart
4) Brian Hynes
5) Jules Chatot
Double Division
1) Lee Erdmann with grandson, Charlie Roberts
2) Joe Cassani with nephew, Grayson Demers
3) Matt Nichols with daughter, Scarlett Nichols
The next Sunfish Sailboat race is Sunday, July 24 at 1pm. We will hope for another beautiful day and competitive race.
Susan sent these photos:
The fleet of boats on an absolutely gorgeous day for sailing.

Jay Chatot takes 1st Place.

Jack LaGue takes 2nd place seconds ahead of Rob Stewart.
And there you have it - a fun, successful first race of the season. I wasn't on the water, but it looks as if it was a near-perfect day for sailing, with plenty of wind, and definitely not too cold to be comfortable. It looks like everyone had a great time. The next race will be on July 24, weather permitting.
