On Calendars and Rentals

Sounds like a strange combination, but that's what I'm actually writing about tonight. I stopped at Hastings Store this afternoon and Jenny gave me this order form that lets you be part of the Danville Community Calendar. These calendars are great fun - they have birth and anniversary dates of people in the community - plus dates of military service, or dates to remember a loved one's death. They are great fun to actually read and check out people you know so you can wish them Happy whatever. The deadline is tomorrow, August 31, 2021 to get on the 2022 calendar. Sorry I didn't know about this before, but there's still time to stop in at the store and fill out one of the forms (see image at right) or email Jenny at rafuse0@gmail.com or call her at 802-318-3957 and she will help you to get on last minute. This is to raise funds for Alyssa's graduating class. Gosh, time flies by quickly. It wasn't that long ago Alyssa was just a toddler. I almost forgot to mention - you get a 2022 calendar for $8.50 or a little more if you have more than four listings on it. And it can be mailed to you! I have to say - these calendars are a lot of fun, and you may be surprised at how old (or young) someone is, and I guarantee it will bring back lots of memories when you see familiar names listed there.

The second interesting thing I want to talk about is Jenny's List. Some of you will remember that back in the day Jenny's grandparents, Gilbert and Jennie (and also her parents, Ralph and Mabel) kept a list of camps that were for rent on the pond. The Joe's Pond website has a list, as well, but it never hurts to have your listing in more than one place. If you want to be on Jenny's list or are looking for a spot to rent, get in touch with her. Her email is rafuse0@gmail.com, or call her at 802-318-3957 and find out more about the list.

And there you have it, all about calendars and rentals.

I started this a couple days ago but got kind of busy and never got back to it. I had posted about the Route 2 construction, but that notice...
