We are all in something of a state of afterglow having had a long Fourth of July weekend with a little bit of everything! The rain drowned out the JPA fireworks on Saturday evening, but the parade in Cabot was apparently as good as any preceding it, and last night's Joe's Pond Association fireworks went off very well with lots of people on the water and the surrounding hillsides watching. Today has been a "winding down" day for most of us as we settle back to a normal routine.
Personally, I had lots of company and today as I was planning a "catch-up day" here in my office, I got a call from Randy Chamberlain who is going to put on my porch addition saying he will be here on Thursday, barring heavy rain. He came up later this morning and we went over a few things and we're now good to go! Great news for me, and I'm excited at the prospect of having a screened-in porch in a few weeks. We settled a lot of details and there will be some preliminary work taking place tomorrow. Then the real fun begins.
Add to that a notice from the Cabot United Church about a benefit BBQ take-out on Thursday! I like that idea! Here are the particulars:

Take out only. By donation - 5 - 6:30 pm.
