March Winds!

 I've heard from a couple of people today about the strong, gusty wind that has been hitting us here in the Kingdom. Those of us who have lived here for a while know about the wind that funnels through West Danville - it can be brutal. Today we had blizzard conditions most of the day. It wasn't awfully cold, but for those of you who thought perhaps I was in some kind of fairyland with no wind, be assured that we had our share of wind on this side of Joe's Pond, too. Shortly after I posted to the blog this morning, the wind picked up and it has been blizzardy all day long. I'm sure the snow has piled up in some spots. Jamie plowed just after lunch time, and I haven't bothered to look at it again. Instead, I've lowered the shades and turned up the volume on the stereo. Let it blow!

This really nice photo came today by way of Andy Rudin who received it from Alicia Hingston;
and it was taken by Barry Cahoon a day or so ago. I'm sure there wasn't much of a sap run today! So thanks to Andy and Alicia and to Barry for the photo. It's a nice reminder that we are really in sugaring season, and that is REAL Vermont maple! Almost a continuous stream! Great shot.

I also received a very nice comment from Margaret Button across the pond this afternoon letting me know the wind was blowing constantly today - right at their house. I guess I should have waited a minute before I posted that there was no wind here this morning. Like me, she is dealing with snow drifts in front of doors and clogged pathways. That's March for you!
