I'm a bit late with my St. Patty's Day greeting, but I hope everyone enjoyed it in some special way. It was certainly a pretty day here at Joe's Pond. Larry put the block out for the Ice-Out Contest, and he couldn't have picked a better day! I had hoped to go down to get some photos and see everyone, but I'm still struggling with vertigo. Although the vertigo wasn't as bad today, I've felt exhausted all day and except for a trip to the mailbox, wasn't outside to enjoy the day at all. I did enjoy it from inside, though - and I've made up my mind that until I get this vertigo and all that goes with it under control, I need to get as much rest as possible and not take chances on falling.
I will post photos of the block tomorrow, and in the meantime, tickets are going fast now - having some sunshine and melting going on get everyone in the mood, I think. So if you want to be part of the Ice-Out Contest, better get your tickets soon. Deadline for tickets to be in is midnight, April 1st. We're expecting another really good year of ticket sales. There was a slow start because the weather was so wintery; but with a few signs of spring, sales are picking up!
Our road is still pretty good, but there are a couple of spots that are challenging. With rain coming tomorrow (and possibly a little more snow!) they probably won't improve any time soon. Usually, just as one mudhole dries out, another breaks out someplace else, so some springs mud season seems to last forever. It's too early to tell how it will be this year. I haven't heard how the roads are in other locations around the pond, but I expect they are beginning to break up, too. We still have plenty of snow, however.
I leave you with an old Irish blessing:
May your troubles be less, your blessings be more, and nothing but happiness come through your door.
