What a beautiful day! We've been outside enjoying the deck - probably one of the last days we'll be able to do that comfortably, although I sure hope there will be more nice weather before temperatures drop. It's been busy around here. We had Nick Wood do our windows - and what a huge relief that we didn't have to do them as we usually do! I really don't know why we haven't done this sooner. But Nick did a great job, was a very nice young man to have around - did his job and was gone, no fuss, no bother. We hardly knew he was here - and his price is definitely very reasonable. We will have him back in the spring, for sure. It's a huge job to do the big windows in the living room and we've always had problems with streaks and smudges, no matter what we used. This year we decided we deserved a break and we're so glad we did.

If you want a break from washing windows, give Nick a call at 203-648-5195. He'll do a great job for you, and he's local - lives in Marshfield.

As Nick was finishing up, Harry came to get our lawn mower and snow blower for servicing. We always have him winterize the mower and tune up the blower before winter. He is another local workman who does a great job. Harry is in Walden - Harry's Small Engine Repair, and his number is 563-2288.

I'm thrilled that we are working rapidly to finish up the West Danville history book. We have only a few chapters left that Linda is doing a final edit on! Dot Larrabee and I are tackling the edits together, mostly looking up credits for photos or completing bits and pieces that need clarifying or changing. Patty is sort of "on call" at the historical house to search out things in the collection so Dot and I don't have to go in. Patty is much more familiar with the collections there than we are and this way sort of streamlines the work.

Enjoy this glorious weekend - be careful to wear your mask and distance if you find yourself in a crowd. Be safe.
