Bear on West Shore Rd

Just a FYI that there's a bear hanging around here and doing some mischief in a search for food. He ripped large holes in my brand new Remay laid over transplanted seedlings and demolished quite a few. I scared him off as he was going for the compost bin. I noticed garbage bins overturned elsewhere on the road earlier this week and trash strewn around; assuming this is his handiwork. He appears to me to be fairly young; probably adolescent. So if you've got bird feeders etc you'll want to remove them if you haven't already done so. Be careful with the trash. And if anyone knows the people at the camps on the pond in this area(I don't), maybe get word to them to watch the garbage, etc? He's showing signs of becoming a major pest and liking the takings at homes too much which won't end well so better for all concerned if he finds the pickings slim here and wanders off to a less settled area. .
