I agree with Mark Gerrish. I seem to recall a similar uproar a few years ago where a bunch of old fuddy duddy's got their knickers in a twist about jet skis.

The wake surf boats that I have observed making wake are always far from shore towards the middle of the pond... and when their ballast tanks are empty their wakes are no different than a wakeboard boat or a ski boat.

The fact is that Joe's Pond is public water owned by the State of Vermont and the JPA has no authority or jurisdiction to do anything other than encourage boaters to operate legally, responsibly and cognizant of their impact on other users of the lake.
