For those of you looking for something different to do on these chilly days - here's an option you may not have thought about.  The Den at Harry's Hardware in Cabot.  It's right on Main Street and not far from the Creamery, so you can stop by for lunch at Sarah's in the back of the hardware store, browse for items in the store, like fishing tackle, garden supplies, crafts, garments and gifts, sit for a spell over a beer or a glass of wine, and mingle with the local folks who frequent the place.  They have lots of Vermont beers on tap and on deck.  Check out the hours they are open, and maybe drive over for an evening of fun - there's live music some evenings, and if you're a musician looking for a venue - I'll bet you could audition for owner Bobby Searles right on the spot. I'm pretty sure you've never experienced anything quite like The Den at Harry's Hardware.

On their Facebook page, "unique," "crazy Vermonters," and "gotta get back there," were some of the comments.  It was quiet the day I stopped by, but all it takes is some musician to show up and you've got a party!  Looks like they have people within a really wide range of ages sitting at the bar, too.  It's all fun for the whole family.
