Happy Fourth of July!

The weather cooperated perfectly for the fireworks at Joe's Pond and on the waterfront in Burlington last night.  Fred will have a slide show on home page shortly - it's there now, but you need to use Chrome browser.  He's working on getting it to show in other browsers.'

I was away from my computer all afternoon, so those of you who may have gone to the blog looking for information on the fireworks were disappointed.  The plan is that fireworks will go as scheduled unless the weather is really terrible - then as soon as the decision is made, we post notification on the blog and home page and I get on the phone to call everyone on our list - area businesses, media, and key people who need to know and a few who have asked specifically to be alerted if there will be no fireworks.  I'm happy I can put away the list for another year.

I'm headed very soon to Cabot to work at the Historical Society museum.  It's going to be a hot day, and we're hoping the rain holds off for all the festivities.  The parade starts at 11 o'clock, but there are lots of other things going on - the rummage sale at the gym, BBQ, lawn sales - and the Historical Society has coffee and doughnuts from 9 o'clock on.  Hope to see you there.

Chico Carcoba sent this photo to me yesterday, taken from the deck of their cottage on Woodbury Pond.   The whole loon family together, and looks like dad has food for one of the chicks.  Nice picture!  Thanks, Chico and Sharon.

Well, I have to get going.  Hope to see some of you at the parade in Cabot today!
