In case you have looked for the webcams that were watching over the 2013 Ice-Out paraphernalia, Diane has disconnected them. She will turn them on again next spring - probably in early March, 2014, or whenever we get the rig set up on the ice again. It was great fun (and very convenient) having the two cameras this year, and we thank Bill and Diane Rossi for making that possible. I'm guessing their neighbors and guests will appreciate the absence of the cameras this summer, though. She has also taken down the clock, and as soon as Larry gets all the ropes and wires dismantled, their deck and boathouse will be back to normal, ready for summer.
We will probably have Ice-Out tickets available by the end of May for the 2014 contest. We are still in the wrap-up phase of this year's contest, and haven't started discussions on next year quite yet. We'll be meeting soon, though, and I'll let you know as soon as tickets are printed and available. We know many of you like to have tickets on hand during the summer months when you have guests at camp; and you also like to have a few on hand to include in greeting cards, to give to friends or as an extra "thank you" to people who may do work for you over the summer, or just to have with you to offer when a stranger finds out you are from Joe's Pond and asks about "that big Ice-Out Contest." We keep some in the car and I usually have a few in my handbag - it's great fun to be able to tell people about the contest and then say, "I just happen to have some tickets . . !"
