We have good news about the loon family from Pearl's Island.  I had this note from Suzi Swanson, whose cottage is off Island Drive:

Jane:

Just a quick note of assurance that the loon chicks (yes there are two) seem to be fine. The parents have been fishing in front of our camp and feeding the chicks constantly. We have been watching them with binoculars and this morning the two are snuggling under mom's (or dad's) wing only to appear when food is presented. Yesterday they were swimming around but keeping close to a parent. So far so good.

We have no word on the ones in the middle pond - where the eagle has been hanging out, so if anyone has seen them, let us know. We aren't sure if those have hatched yet.
