Nothing to report. You can barely see the flag and pallet in this photo, but Fred got some nice pictures and close-ups that clearly show the ice is receding rapidly; but the pallet is hanging tight and the clock was still ticking at 7 this morning. That hole in the ice is expanding, and there are others further up the pond, as well. We'll be doing more frequent checks today, I think, as there is bright sunshine and some wind - all designed by Mother Nature to do in the ice. We aren't sure if all the tickets have been logged in - our statistician had a bit of a backlog the last time we heard, so we may have to delay announcing a winner once the clock stops. But we'll get that information to everyone as soon as we can after it happens.

Now I need to begin preparations for Easter dinner with the family tomorrow. Ham and parsnips. With other items, of course, but I look forward to that combination every year. I didn't plant parsnips last year, but I did in 2010, and they were especially good right out of the garden in the early spring. Perhaps later today we will get out into the woods to look for Mayflowers - another sign of spring I always look forward to.
