Here's something you don't see every day on Long Island - Liz Randall was quick with her camera and sent this series of shots:
Turkey Trot on L.I.
They have real spring there, I don't blame those turkeys for going there. I wonder if they flew down from Joe's Pond for a little R&R in John and Liz's yard. I think it must be unusual to see them where John and Liz live in Miller Place - Liz seemed pretty excited about them. Nice birds, and they put on a show!
This was Woody this morning, checking out the fog. It was a real peasouper early, then we got some rain and Fred got this picture of the pond with water on the ice. By noon the rain was turning to snow and we now have a nice coating of clean, white snow that's sticking to the trees, but not much on the road. I think we can safely say that spring, such as it is, is here.
