We've just had a call from Jay Chatot on Chatot Road letting us know there is a small beagle dog that's been around their place for a couple of weeks and it seems to be a stray. The dog is very shy, and they have not been able to approach it, but it has a blue collar and may have tags. Jay is concerned that he's been around for so long and it's going to be really cold tonight, so if anyone knows this dog or where he might belong, you'll know where to find him. I can't say for sure it's a male, but Jay did refer to the dog as "him." Jay is making other calls, so we're hoping we'll find the owner of this little dog soon.
The big grader just went by our house at about 10:45 a.m. We have been wondering when the road would get plowed. We had a call from another neighbor on Brickett's Crossing Road wondering if we knew when the plow might come as someone was stuck on their road. I guess the road crew decided they needed to use the grader because this snow is really heavy and I'm sure the truck plows would be ineffective up on Cabot Plain by the cemetery, and several other trouble spots around town where the snow drifts badly. This is a typical March storm, and it wouldn't be surprising if we have more like this before the month is over.
