Some of you may know that Joe's Pond has been part of the Lay Monitoring Program for the State of Vermont for many years. Most recently, and for the past several years, Jamie Dimick has been our Lay Monitor, taking samples of water regularly and meeting several times during the summer with the people from ANR. Now Jamie will be passing the sampling kit on to someone else. Here's what he sent to me earlier today in an e-mail:
I'm looking to finish up with volunteering for the LMP project after this season. After many years of collecting samples for the State, it's time to pass in on. Could you please help get the word out through your website and JPA contacts? It makes sense to have anyone interested in taking over LMP go out a few times this season with me.

Also, interested persons could visit:

I hope someone on the pond will be interested in carrying on this volunteer work which is an important part of keeping track of the condition of our lake from year to year.
