We have a cold, dreary, rainy day here. My thermometer seems frozen at 42 degrees. It's raining - not hard, but pretty steadily, and while everything is bright and green outside, it's not the kind of day one wants to be out there enjoying it. We have a cheery fire going - there have only been a couple of days that we didn't need one to take off the chill.

We had a lovely Mother's Day dinner with Jamie and Marie last night. Otto and Rico were there, too, and excited to have visitors. Tilly, their older cat, has her own domain upstairs so Rico won't pick on her. Rico normally doesn't pay much attention to me, but last night he was very friendly. He's a really pretty, sort of exotic looking cat, small, but with big slanting eyes and distinct tiger markings that are more spots than stripes. Even though he's much smaller than Woody, we think he comes down to beat Woody up pretty frequently. Of course, Woody doesn't tolerate other cats at all, so it's hard to tell who starts the rumpus. Otto is the referee between the two cats, and keeps them in line by barking if they get too rambunctious. He has a monster bark!

I had a short message from Liz Randall yesterday. Liz and John were stopped overnight at their house on West Shore Road on their way to their daughter's graduation from Keene State College this weekend. Liz said they found a bird feeder down and crushed and figured it must have been a bear - possibly the same one that visited Richer's.

Fred came upon this link about the hole in the ozone layer: Ozone Info
It has some interesting information, but raises more questions than it answers, at least for me.

Here's one I came across that was pretty interesting, too: Runs on Water
As you can probably tell, it's a "slow news day" here at Jane's blog. Tomorrow we should have some interesting weather news for you, if nothing else. Keep warm and safe, and all you mothers out there, have a lovely day tomorrow! The day is yours, take it!
