HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!
We got the predicted snow - I measured 1 in. on my snow board this morning and in places, that's what's on the ground. Where it's wet or dark, like pavement, dirt or stones, the snow hasn't stuck. But it's still snowing lightly and there's a steady wind out of the west, so perhaps there is more snow to come and everything will be covered later in the day. My thermometer reads 33 degrees, but that's up slightly from earlier this morning when Fred first looked. Except for the lovely green tinge instead of orange, the picture above l
I have to say, it's pretty dismal outside. We're cozy, though. There is a nice fire in the wood stove, Woody's curled up in his favorite chair, we have oatmeal simmering on the stove, and even though it's snowing outside, we've got plenty to do inside and the good news is - this snow can't last more than a day or two! Can it?
Some folks don't care what the weather is. They've come to Joe's Pond to fish and by golly, they're gonna do it! Diane Rossi sent me this picture this morning. I sure hope they're catching something to make it worthwhile being out there in the wind and snow. Maybe it's something to "write home about," or at least gives them bragging rights at the local store.
Oatmeal's ready and Fred's getting out the maple syrup, so I'll tell you about our evening out last night in another posting.
