This morning we were going to make a run to the Wal-Mart in Littleton, but just before leaving the house, we decided to visit the Wal-Mart Super Store in Woodsville, N. H. There is little, if any, difference in distance, but we had only been to the Woodsville store perhaps twice and have often wondered why there would be a store there. It seems like an out-of-the-way location in a sparsely populated area. When we have been there before, it wasn't very busy and we came away wondering if it would survive. Just down the street from it is a big Job Lots store and a Shaws Market. Today we were surprised that the Super Store was pretty busy. Not like it would be at Christmas, but certainly busier than we'd seen it before.
We took pictures along the way. Not exciting, but we were interested in where the snow line seemed to be - a little more in Wells River and Woodsville area than in St. Johnsbury, but not as much as at Joe's Pond. We saw lots of vehicles towing snowmobile carriers heading south after a weekend in the north country. Hopefully the found some trails that were good. Last night we noticed the groomer at work on the rail trail across the lake from us, so even the small amounts of snow we've had perhaps made the trails a little better than they have been. Things should pick up for next weekend, though!
