Things are moving in the right direction, though. Fred and I just came back from Hastings Store where we met with a TV crew for Lyndon State College's Channel 7 News Channel. It seemed early to us, but I guess it's getting close enough so we can use the publicity. They interviewed me and also Diane Jejer who happened to be the clerk on duty at the store. In years past, Homer Fitts has been available, but Homer is living in Barre this winter and headed for Florida right away, so the interview fell to us.

On our way home we noticed there is a lot of activity on the ice. According to reports at the store, we have about 20 inches of ice this year. Last year about this time we had 25 inches. There is a sign for "Fresh Perch" at the store, but Diane told us those come from Champlain, not Joe's Pond. Garey said the local fishermen are fishing for themselves, not commercially.

I think there is something called "similcast" or perhaps that's not quite the word, but it's when their news is broadcast for TV and appears at the same time on the web site.
