HI -
MAILING ADDRESS NOVEMBER THROUGH APRIL:
HOMER AND MARGARET FITTS
17 COUNTRY WAY
BARRE, VT. 05641
" MERRY CHRISTMAS " TO YOU ALL.

*****

The holidays seem to be a time when increased incidents of scams, etc. happen. Don't fall for pitches you can't verify. Don't click on links from unknown, possibly untrustworthy sources. Instead, if you want to find out if it's legit, go to your browser and type in the web address. Today I have received two warnings that are real. The first has circulated before, it is a message saying you have a greeting waiting and offers a link to it. Unless you know absolutely who the sender is, do not click on the link for there may be a virus waiting to invade your computer.

The second warning is about a message supposedly from UPS, DHL or FedEx saying they have been unable to deliver a package and asking you to open an attachment to print and take to the appropriate office to claim the package. All major shipping companies have warnings about this and warn people not to open any attachments as it may launch a virus. Instead, contact the shipping company directly, either by e-mail or telephone.

It's always a good idea to be cautious about opening any attachment or link sent to you by someone you don't know, and be suspicious of any e-mail the seemingly comes from a known company, bank or business that asks you for personal information or requires you to open attachments. If there is a problem, your bank or the business will telephone you, not send an e-mail.
