At Cabot's special meeting last night, there were four items to be considered:

(1) A revised budget for the library - reduced from $53,668.32 to $50,668.32; this article was amended back to the original amount of $53,668.32 and passed by the voters.
(2) A request to rescind the no vote at March meeting for an additional $50,999 on top of the $3,660,125 school budget passed last night. The school budget now stands at $3,711,124.
(3) A request that there must be 10% of voters petitioning for special meetings instead of the 5% required now was defeated. The 5% requirement stands.
(4) It was voted to hold the school's portion of March meeting at 6PM the evening before the regular town meeting.

Some of you may have seen in the Times Argus that Marselis Parsons, news director at WCAX-TV is retiring and Anson Tebbetts, of Cabot, has been named as news director. Parsons has held the position since 1984. Tebbetts worked at WCAX for several years before becoming deputy secretary of agriculture. To read the complete article, go to Parsons
