I had a message from Chico Carcoba this morning:

I'M A LITTLE LATE ON REPORT, BUT ICE ON WOODBURY POND WAS COMPLETELY GONE ON SATURDAY THE 18TH.(7-10 days after, Joe's should be gone).
DID ALL THE OUTSIDE WORK AT CAMP AND ANXIOUS TO TURN WATER ON.

I thought when we got up this morning the ice behind the islands would be gone, but that didn't happen. Yesterday afternoon the ice was very dark - blue-black - but this morning it's white again, so it was cold enough last night to freeze at least the top. Right now my thermometer is 36 degrees on the shady side of the house. The wind seems to be out of the south east, so that will move the ice in a different direction and help break it up. The wind has been predominantly out of the north or northwest, but we're expecting some rain later on today and things have changed. We'll keep you posted.

You may have seen the notice on the Comments Page from Jenn Persons, who lives just up the road from us, and is available to clean for you. We've known Jenn for a long time and would certainly recommend her. We'll have her card on the Local Services page probably by the end of the day. Fred is out checking ice conditions right now, but he'll do it this afternoon.
