Some of you may remember that back in January 2008, Tucky Sancibrion and I were searching for information on a young woman who drowned here at Joe's Pond years ago. Someone sent an anonymous reply to that search this past Wednesday, Sept. 3. Here it is:
Her name was Mylka (pronounced Mil-ka)Brozicevic of Barre. Her father owned the Jurras Granite Company of Montpelier. The siblings include her brother Michael (Misko) Brozicevic, sister Eva, Adella and half-brother Martin.
Mylka was a striking beauty.
Tucky and I were able to get very little information on Mylka, but I eventually was contacted by her niece who now lives in the mid-west. I would very much like to hear from the person who wrote the comment above. Mylka's story is still somewhat of a mystery because most of the people who knew her no longer live in this area or were too young to remember details. Even her niece was too young to have much recollection, but because of our search efforts, she was happy to connect with the area again and in at least one instance, an old friend.
