Still enjoying our ice-sculptured trees, but they aren't glistening today. There's a fine but steady snow falling - not much yet, but it could develop into something more substantial. Temperature outside my window right now is 24 degrees.

Diane Rossi took this picture of their flag yesterday (Saturday) morning. The wind was blowing and there was some snow in the air, but the flag was steady as a rock.

I'm noticing today that a lot of the ice on the trees is not just covering the branches, there are icicles hanging from the branches - straight down - especially on the larger horizontal branches. I just snapped this picture of one of our trees in the back yard. I did it the easy way, from inside through an open window, with lots of zoom. We haven't been in the woods since the rain, but I expect even there the trees are pretty well covered with ice. The snow we're getting now is sticking to the evergreens and everything is very quiet. There's no wind; the fine snow is floating straight down. The forecast for our area, if you checked on our home page weather, is for a 20% chance of snow showers. We're happy to be in that top 20%!

The good news is - we're now into the last half of our winter season!
