Diane Rossi took this picture of their flag yesterday (Saturday) morning. The wind was blowing and there was some snow in the air, but the flag was steady as a rock.
I'm noticing today that a lot of the ice on the trees is not just covering the branches, there are icicles hanging from the branches - straight down - especially on the larger horizontal branches. I just snapped this picture of one of our trees in the back yard. I did it the easy way, from inside through an open window, with lots of zoom. We haven't b
een in the woods since the rain, but I expect even there the trees are pretty well covered with ice. The snow we're getting now is sticking to the evergreens and everything is very quiet. There's no wind; the fine snow is floating straight down. The forecast for our area, if you checked on our home page weather, is for a 20% chance of snow showers. We're happy to be in that top 20%!The good news is - we're now into the last half of our winter season!
