Comet Holmes may be visible tonight. Here's something interesting Steve and Bev Allen sent to me this morning, but by the way the sky looks tonight, I expect there may be too much cloud cover.
Check this out! We saw it last night - very obvious even to the naked eye, but better with binoculars. It's about 45 degrees up in the ENE. We've been experimenting with photos for the blog. I know people who have dial-up

cannot get the larger pictures to load, so I'm reducing them before I post. I've gone down another notch for these, so I'll be interested if they work better for those folks. Fred was at son Jamie's this morning helping him adapt a used hard-top for Marie's jeep. There was a lot of retro-fitting going on, sanding, cutting, drilling, etc., but it's now in place and after the paint gets touched up, it should be warmer for Marie this winter. Fred took pictures, of course. I thought you might like to see the view (with a little zoom) from Jamie's driveway. He's a tad higher in elevation than our house is.

Then this afternoon Fred pointed out a really HUGE bees' nest in one of our ornamental apple trees. We hadn't noticed it this summer at all, but we knew there were an awful lot of bees frequenting the hummingbird feeder. I guess they were well fed and that's why they needed such a big hive. Too high for anything to bother them, for sure.
Also, I thought you might be interested in the Dente cottage on Edgewood Ave. It has been in the process of renovations for a

while, and we just noticed it has a totally new look - ver

y nice!
Sorry I didn't get the comet info posted earlier - it's been sort of a busy day.
