I learned this morning of the death of Ken Mason, a long-time former Joe's Pond resident and father of Kent Mason (West Shore Road). Ken was a true gentleman, always helpful, courteous, and a good neighbor. He had many friends at Joe's Pond, and was missed after he moved away a few years ago. We are deeply saddened now by his passing. Condolences to the family may be sent to Kent and Cherese Mason, 1581 West Shore Road, Cabot, Vermont 05647.

Also, long-time Danville town clerk, Marjorie Greaves, passed away recently in Florida where she lived with her daughter. Marjorie held the clerk's position in Danville for a long time, and she was also a co-founder of the Cabot Alumni Association for many years. Marjorie's parents were Carroll and Harriet Pike, and her father was Cabot's town clerk for many years. Marjorie was an avid supporter of Cabot High School and a great organizer, keeping former graduates in touch through the Alumni Association and yearly gatherings during Cabot's Old Home Week. I often contacted her for information regarding people or events in Cabot, as well as historical references in Danville. She loved history and was a great resource. I'm sure many Joe's Ponders will remember when she was Danville's town clerk, and also know her son, Mark Greaves, of Danville. She will be missed.
