A reader asked about the condition of the ice on Joe's Pond. I do not have a first-hand report. My fisherman friend told me he hasn't been out to fish more than a couple of times, and that was not since all the really cold weather we had, but he estimated the ice must be about 30 inches thick by now. He hopes to be fishing again soon - perhaps this week, so I may have better information within a few days. In the meantime, if anyone has better information, please let me know. You can email me at janebrowncabot@gmail.com.
