Good Morning!

I have some good stuff for you this morning. I mentioned about Chris Hebert running the complete rail trail - and this morning Nancy Buttura posted a neat clip on her Facebook page.Christ was on the final segment of his run, from Joe's Pond to St.. Johnsbury. Good running, Chris - well done!

Paiige Crosby let me know there are still a few tickets for the Ham Dinner on Saturday, June 22, but better let her know if you want to attend. This meal features macaroni and cheese by Marion Beattie Cairnes (Rte 15) and it is a really nice meal with lots of ham- a real traditional comfort-food meal everyone can enjoy. Happy Hour is at 5 p.m. and there are always lots of interesting appetizers - bring one to share if you can, and bring your own beverage. It is the first social event of the season, so come join the party - give Paige or Peter a call - Peter, 802-535-4949 or Paige, 802-274-4772, and reserve your tickets.

Rena Ellingwood got in touch this week to tell me she spotted a loon chick in the upper pond, and sent this picture. She said the loon pair in the lower ponds had a nest but now they are no longer at the nest and there is no evidence of a chick, so apparently the eggs didn't hatch or the chick didn't survive. This is the first report I've had of sightings - so the warnings are out to give the loons plenty of space and hopefully, this year's chick will survive. We do lover our loons at Joe's Pond.

Enjoy this beautiful day - it would be a great day for sailing , at least for daring, experienced sailors. That wind is strong and it would be exciting to be sailing. Only for seasoned sailors, though. And the water is still cold, so not a good time to get dunked.

Also, Chico Carcoba sent directions for getting to the farm with the bridge over the road.

Directions to barn with over pass.

    Start at South Woodbury
    take road opposite town clerks
    left on Foster Hill road
     right on King Pond road
     you're on Chartier Hill Rd
          Your there !
                                         Hope these help, Chico

Thanks, Chico - these directions certainly do help.
