The annual Awards Ceremony was hosted by long-time Sunfish Racing sponsors Mark and Rosie Smith. Here is a group photo taken at the party. The striking blue shirts with special Joe's Pond Sunfish Races logo have been a big hit with sailors and their friends and families.

Photos left to right are: Jerry Webber (left), son-in-law of the late Dr. Fred Silloway and Fred's grand-daughter, Kaitland Gingue presented Jules Chatot with a trophy for "Most Improved" sailor. This award was set up to honor Fred who enjoyed sailing at Joe's Pond during the 1970s.
The center photo, left to right, is Commodore Joe Hebert, 2023 winner of singles division Jack LaGue, JPA Activities Director Susan Bouchard, Most Improved Jules Chatot with daughter Lucy, and 2023 Doubles winners Laela Roberts and her grandfather Lee Erdmann.

In spite of difficult weather, the races this year went smoothly. There were great turnouts to sail and lots of support from the Joe's Pond community. This popular event begun in the 1970s and for many years was a weekly event. After diminished interest, there were no races for a long period, but now sailing is again being enjoyed by participants and onlookers. Thank you, Susan Bouchard and your team for the work you do to make this event fun and successful again. The sailing shirts were an inspiration.
