No News and Good News

The "No News" is that the block hasn't moved since yesterday. There is a lot of sun and wind today, so things could certainly change quickly. We'll just have to wait and see what happens. Diane and the Rouleaus are keeping a close watch on the block so we'll know as soon as anything changes.

Son, Bill Dimick, just texted me that the ice went out on Stiles Pond Wednesday. It is often about two weeks before Joe's Pond goes out. We'll see how that works out this year.

Yesterday Diane sent me a link to a story from VPR about just how bad mud season in Vermont can be. This is definitely a very unusual cast, and there appears to still be a lot of unanswered questions as to how this woman got herself into such a life-threatening situation. The story is HERE.

The "Good News" is that the female loon has arrived and the happy couple are busy making plans to raise their family here at Joe's Pond this summer. There has been no sign of the eagle yet, so we can only hope that he/she has found better hunting grounds somewhere else.
