Ice-Out Winners Named!

 The three winners of this year's Ice-Out Contest have been verified and here are the names:

Timothy Colgrove  St. Johnsbury  winning time  4/19  4:55 am

Laurie Austin  St. Albans  winning time  4/19  4:55 am

John Reed  St. Johnsbury  winning time 4/19  4:47 am.

 

The clock actually stopped at 4:51 a.m. on the 19th, so as you can see, they were all within four minutes of the exact time. 

 

The wind carried Ice-Out block and flag up the pond this year. I haven't heard what the committee is thinking, but it looks to me as if the wind carried the ice, with the rope frozen in and the block hanging under the surface, up the pond to somewhere in front of Dudley's and Keenan's. Larry and helpers will retrieve it soon. As we've said before, every year is a little different!
