Without a doubt, the groundhog saw his shadow this morning, so we can all settle in for another six weeks of winter. For us at Joe's Pond, that would be great is we could count on just another six weeks of this cold and snow - but in reality, we are most likely going to see at least another 8 to 10 weeks of lousy weather before we see much improvement. It's where we live.
Today is pretty nice. The sun is a little on the weak side, but the thermometer is above freezing, and that's really warm compared to yesterday and the week before. The sun was bright yesterday, but it was cold. I had an appointment in Montpelier early in the morning, and even on my way home, about 10 o'clock, the reading on the car was still only 5 degrees until I got back to Joe's Pond, and by then it showed 9 degrees. But it didn't warm up more than barely in the 20s all day here.
Today is warmer. I'm showing 33.7 degrees above - warm enough to head out for a short walk before lunch! But before I do that, I need to refill my bird feeders. With snow coming, I'm not going to want to be out there tomorrow, wading around in a foot of snow.
Are any of you playing Wordle? I haven't tried it yet - it took me a long time to warm up to Sudoku, and then I got sort of addicted. I tell myself I really don't have time to play with this stuff, but of course, that's a cop-out. I occasionally do crossword puzzles, and enjoy those most of the time. Other than that, I do get into on-line Solitaire - that is relaxing and I can turn my thoughts off to just concentrate on the numbers. Wordle seems a little harder - mainly guesswork. But that's ok. Whatever works during these very trying times!
