Our typical January is remaining true to it's reputation. Yesterday was cold, and we got another inch of new snow from the consistent flurries all day; today was colder, but the sun was out, more or less, most of the time but still the thermometer here at my house never got out of the single digits. I had an overnight low of -3, but Jamie's thermometer (a few feet higher in elevation) was -5 at about 8 a.m., so may have been considerably colder earlier. I was in St. Johnsbury this morning to get my first Covid-19 shot. It was a little warmer there, but still holding in the single numbers above zero.
The shot was awesome. Kinney's is doing a really good job getting people in and out with no fuss whatsoever, and I barely felt the needle. However, I was unusually sleepy after lunch, and had a little nap in my chair while I was supposed to be watching TV - and then I went down for the mail. The cold air did me some good and that's why I decided to check my email and get a little computer work done.
Middle son, Bob sent me this link - a crazy man with a truly all-terrain vehicle! I did a little research and found more information on this type of vehicle in Russia that is patterned after a military vehicle and what the crazy man copied. I can see lots of guys who like redesigning the wheel imagining all sorts of possibilities for a toy like this at Joe's Pond, but the way it tears up the terrain, it would be about as popular here as that air boat was a few years ago.
Stay warm and safe, keep your animals inside, and enjoy the weekend. I believe the weather is going to moderate after the weekend!
