National Crisis

We seem to go from one crisis to another her in U. S. these days. It's terrible that President Trump has contracted the Coronavirus, but given his cavalier attitude, I don't think anyone is very surprised. It's too bad so many people around him have to suffer from his poor choices. The situation poses a whole lot of problems for the nation, especially since there's only a little over a month until the election, and who knows what other problems will crop up because of this. Sadly, it seems we have not been getting straight information on his condition - the news this noon had a lot of conflicting information and questions flying around, but that is expected from the current White House.

On a lighter note, we've enjoyed having some much-needed rain, but did you hear that Whiteface Mountain over in New York had their first snow showers of the season yesterday? The reporter didn't say that was a record early date, but it must be close. The foliage is past peak in some places - but here at Joe's Pond it seems to still be very nice, even after the rain and some wind. But cooler weather is coming here in due time, for sure. Get ready!

I can report that we are down to our last two chapters to do the final edits for the West Danville history book. Linda is working on the Weather chapter now and then will have only the final one left. It has been a bit hectic yesterday and today, with emails flying back and forth between all of us, but things are getting done and we're closing in on it quickly. That is not to say that it will be published very soon - there is still a lot more work to do formatting it, sorting through photos and images to weed out those that are poor quality, and all of that takes time. We are making good progress, however. I'll keep you posted!
