The town
of Cabot has now joined many other communities in the State of Vermont
and has a confirmed COVID-19 case. While this is reason for concern, it
is not reason for panic. We should remain optimistic that the patient
is following all of the proper recommendations and isolating and has
reported any contacts that he or she may have had to assist in contact
tracing.
The State of Vermont nor Vermont Department of Health provides any information to the emergency management director, the emergency medical services, the fire department or any other town officials within the municipality. What we do know about COVID-19 is that we can control the spread of this virus by following the necessary steps and being diligent in our own situations.
So remember:
Wash your hands frequently
Maintain Social Distancing
Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
Practice Respiratory Hygiene
Wear a facial covering unless your health prevents it
If you have a fever, cough, or difficulty breathing seek medical attention- but call in advance.
Together we as a community will get through this.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.
Respectfully,
Jennifer Miner
